We are a purpose-built school with our own parking, secure outdoors area, and are accessible to all, regardless of the child’s ability or background.
We have a long-standing tradition in providing work experience to third level students in Early Years Education, most recently with Technological University Dublin – as well as accommodating secondary school transition year students with work experience placements, most often past pupils of the Montessori themselves!! We find this an experience that is valuable to the children and teachers as well as the students themselves.
In May 2017 we received the Healthy Ireland Smart Start award in recognition of the work we do promoting the children’s health & well-being physically & emotionally in our Montessori pre-school, and in June 2017 we received our official Early Years Education-focused Inspection Report from the Department of Education & Skills – these inspections are to monitor the quality of educational experiences & interactions provided for the children; we received a quality level of Excellent in all 4 areas www.education.ie/…/Inspection…/Early-Years-Education-Reports
In addition, we have linked in to St Nicholas Montessori Teachers Association and take active part in their Montessori network meetings, curriculum workshops, and we avail of their ongoing mentoring service. We are Tusla registered, are members of Montessori Alliance, and also liaise with Kildare County Childcare Committee regarding training and partnerships with local schools. We also link into Naas library for visits and book loans and we liaise with the local Sallins primary school to have a tour there before children leave to start primary school.
